Well, thanks to me being a bit heavy handed I managed to kill a hard drive. Was not paying attention when I was replacing a hard drive that was acting a bit goofy. In my wiggling the hard drive in place I broke the plastic part that covers the power connection of a SATA drive. Sadly that was not the drive that was acting up, it was the drive with all my 2019 images on it. Luckily I made a copy of that drive on January 1 of this year, just a simple copy/paste so the filing system was identical on the copy drive as the one I broke. I simply swapped drives and had no issues in LR.
Which leads me to my question. Now when I import images into LR I tick the make a copy box. However it does not put the images in a folder with the date they were taken, instead it creates a folder that I imported the images, on any given date there will be images from a dozen or so dates (the date they were taken). Is there a way to change this.
This is how the import drive looks.....
This is how the "copy" drive looks.....
Or does this not matter? Say my import drive were to go belly up and I were to use the copy drive to rebuild the import drive. When I import the images from the copy drive will LR use the same type of filing system it initially used?
