according to this its possible

Specific metadata in selected photos can be synchronized with metadata in another photo. This provides a fast way to add information and IPTC metadata to photos. Synchronizing metadata saves you the effort of repeatedly typing the same metadata into photos.
    • Select a photo in the Grid view that has metadata that other photos will synchronize to. This becomes the active photo.
    • Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Mac OS) to select photos that will synchronize with the active photo. Shift-click to select contiguous photos.
    • Do one of the following:
      • Click the Sync button below the panels on the right.
      • Choose Metadata > Sync Metadata.
    • In the Synchronize Metadata dialog box, select the metadata that you want and then click Synchronize.
But After pasting, the faces did not have tge box round them with the name, still showed as before UNKNOWN
cant see why it didnt work, i selected the MD with all the face tags and clicked copy

I don’t think you can sync face recognition like this. What you do here is sync the metadata themselves, but not the connection to a face.

You can sync keywords from the active image to the other selected images, including keywords with the "person" attribute turned on, but you cannot synchronize the face regions associated with an image to other images.

The only reason I can think of where you'd want the same face region on two seperate images is if those two imageas are actually copies of each other. Is that the case? If not can you please explain the situaiton you have where you desire copying the face region from one photo to another?

Yes that is the reason, I could have gone into explorer and copied one to the other, but the face boxes still wouldn’t have appeared, it was a group wedding photo with numerous tags and faces boxed

Rather than having two physical images haveh you considered using a Virtual Copy? If you make a VC after assigning the face region, the VC acquires the face region from the original.
