Consequences of upgrading from perpetual to classic?

I'm currently running perpetual to avoid the monthly fee:

Lightroom version: 6.14 [ 1149743 ]
License: Perpetual

Will upgrading to VERSION 7 / 2018 RELEASE be available for me and will there be any adverse consequences? I want to continue my perpetual "no monthly fee" usage which I'm totally satisfied with. I have the Lr 6.0 FAQ book and am considering Victoria's V7 book.
