With the latest 15.2.1 I seem to have issues I believe with LrC talking to my RTX 5070. I have done a clean install of the Nvidia Studio Driver and a clean install of 15.2.1. it seems to be when LrC is utilizing AI. I'm getting all three monitors going black..The GPU seems to be working fine in FurMark tests and I am running Topaz Photo, Luminar Neo, Pure RAW, ON1 Photo RAW all without any problems. Has anyone seen anything similar?

I'm not a Windows person but I have seen others that have issues when installing the gaming drivers when they should be installing the Studio drivers.

Please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

Yes, I did a clean uninstall and reinstall of the Studio driver thanks.

I have rolled Lr back to v 15.0 to see if it works better - I will run some more tests today. I copied the system info after the roll back but all details other than the Lr version should be the same I think.

Thanks, One of the more knowledgeable Windows Gurus can tell you is this is the correct driver for your GPU .

1. Laptop or desktop
2. Factory install or subsequent upgrade.

If you have 3 screens connected.. I would be worried about internal power demands. either main power supply is not enough or internal motherboard and cabling cannot cope with power.

Also.. you may be supplying power to a monitor via a usb c cable..

I upgraded to an Rtx 4070ti. The power cable supplied in the GPU box was not fit for purpose. I got no error messages.. and took a fair amo7nt of trouble shooting to isolate that the supplied GPU power cable was below power spec needed.

It may not be a power issue. .. just mentioning as a line of enquiry.

Thanks. Some good thoughts. I tested the 1000 watt PSU under FurMark 2 and the Votage at the GPU rails was 11.985 - 12.209 and the Wattage was 250.922. I cant say much about the cables and I dont know how to test them. Thanks for the input.

I cant say much about the cables and I dont know how to test them.
It has been my observation that the cables provided by the manufacturer are usually supplied by the lowest bidder. And So will provide the minimal standard to meet the specs. If I can avoid it, I never buy a device that comes with a permanently attached cable and I always opt to use cables of the highest quality where ever their use is critical

Having a 1000 watt psu is a good start and knowing how to check voltages is great.

What caught my eye was the reference to 3 screens. What happens with one screen and then 2… Are the screens powered directly from mains or is a USB C cable used power.

I just saw Cletus comment.. I will post a link to the internal cable I sourced to solve my issue from psu to card… it might be tomorrow. .. it is late on a Bank Holiday Monday here in Dublin right now.

I did not test mine.. I just had a sense the setup was wrong. There was a lot of discussion at the time that cables were overheating and damaging GPU ports.

That's the most recent Studio driver.

I agree with Matt's suggestion: Try one screen at a time connected, then two screens.
Thanks, I will do that.

The screens are all powered by mains. I been running the three on this pc since October with no issues. It started with LrC 15.2.1. But I will try going with 2 and 1 to see if that helps. Have a good night there in Dublin.

Here is the cable I sourced to solve my GPU power problems.

IMG_1003.png

I was /am using a Corsair power supply so purchased a cable branded Corsair cable.

At the time.. high powered GPUs were relatively new and people did not fully understand / appreciate what was needed internally to support unusually high peak power demands (ie power supply, motherboard , internal cables, etc).

If my memory is correct.. this uses two power ports from the psu to feed the single power port on the GPU.

I also got the tech spec for my PSU and tested all ports on psu were delivering to spec.. ie took the PSU out of the computer to a lab test desk and followed detailed instructions to test all ports. My PSU passed with flying colours.. which probably then brought my focus to the GPU power cable/s.

If your PC was factory built then it is less likely to have these hardware type issues.. but a high risk if a custom build.

BTW.. testing the monitors individually and collectively is just to try and isolate the issue.. not question the viability of your 3 screen setup.

I purchased a small 20 inch portable monitor, that I plugged into the main motherboard display port. This allowed me to monitor the boot sequence of my Pc, just using this small monitor and then test what happens as I added monitors to my 4070Ti.

It may be that you are using Ai tools more frequently or differently than previously… such as batch Denoise or applying Adaptive Profiles to all imported images.. or similar that is overloading the GPU architecture. This may also combine with new Ai based features in more recent software versions.

I will make my own post, but I am having problems with a laptop and a 5070. The program boggs down, and the screen flickers. For what it's worth...

Well I finally found the solution. I did everything i could think of, replaced the PSU and updated cables, disabled other apps, updated my BIOS and tried a couple dozen other things suggested by both Gemini and Adobe. I spent many hours with Adobe in Chats and actual phone calls but they were stumped.
I tested CPU and GPU with FurMark, 3DMark, afterburner, HWinfo and a few I cant even remember. I was staring at the screens one day after another call with Adobe and I remembered that just prior to the start of the crashes I had calibrated all three monitors with my Spyder X. Some more googling tells me thatin the new Spyder software there are two different ICC protocols that can be selected to create the colour profiles for each monitor and that there had been issues with lightroom conflicting with the newer version . I redid the calibration on the three monitors with ICC at 2.0 and problem solved..
So either the change of protocol or perhaps just a corrupted colour profile was the problem.

Ah, the ICC 2 versus 4 profile problem. We used to see a lot of that in years past but I don't recall seeing this surface in the last couple of years at least, either here or on the Adobe forum.

I don't know if the underlying issue is that LR Classic doesn't correctly implement version 4 profiles or that Spyder et al. don't conform to the standard. Adobe never prioritized finding out authoritatively and informing users.
