Yesterday, I did a drag-and-drop in the LR folder panel to combine a couple of small folders, maybe 50 photos involved. It's been over 24 hours, and LR still says "2 operations in progress". I'm inclined to click on the "x" next to these operations and start over again (of forget the whole thing). Is that what I should do?

"Where are the images when you look for them outside of LR?"
That's a good question, and I wish I had made a note of the folders involved before I tried to move them. I've got a bunch of folders to clean up, and I'm not positive which ones I attempted to move.
Anyway, I clicked on the "x" next to the two operations in progress, and they shut down promptly. I then shut down LR so as to have a nice fresh BU of my catalog, and all went well.
So, next time I try to move folders within LR, I'll be sure to make a note of which folders are involved!
