I have a XRite ColorMunki Photo device. Can anyone either provide me with a link to a download, or does anyone have a download they can provide?

X-Rite decided to focus on their industrial color management devices, so the consumer X-Rite product line was shifted over to the new consumer-oriented Calibrite company, who have continued software support for ColorMunki hardware, at least for now. Although the ColorMunki has been replaced by newer devices, Calibrite still supports the ColorMunki with their old software and new software. You can download both here:
https://calibrite.com/us/software-downloads/

The old software is ccStudio. I think this is still free.
The last update was June 2023.

The new, redesigned Calibrite Profiler software requires a small one-time (I think) fee. There is a Demo Mode that you can use without paying.
The last update was a month ago.

It’s not really clear whether Calibrite Profiler works with all of the ColorMunki Display, Photo, and Design variants, so it might be a bit of trial and error to figure out which download works best for the one you have.

Although you can still download ColorMunki software from the X-Rite website, you can see that the last update there was seven years ago (2017). The software on the Calibrite site is much more up to date.

ArtIsRight has an overview of the Calibrite Profiler software on his YouTube channel.

Unfortunately, the Calibrite website does not show a download for the Colormunki. The link to the former Xrite site does not work. The intention was to make certain that the operating app was correctly working.

The problem I've been contending with involves the use of Palette Master Elements for color profiling a BenQ monitor with the use of the Colormunki. For some unknown reason Palette Master Elements no longer recognizes the Colormunki device. The Colormunki is not the problem because it is recognized and successfully worked with the i1Studio profiling app. In fact, it was just used to color profile the BenQ monitor to confirm that the Colormunki was not the problem. I prefer using Palette Master Elements app as it does more thorough and accurate color profiling. Have been in touch with Palette Master techs, but thus far they have not able to provide a solution to the problem. It was kicked up to higher techs. Why Palette Master Elements no longer recognizes the Colormunki after many successful uses of the Colormunki is a mystery.

That’s odd… Rob’s X-Rite link works when I click it.

On the Calibrite software downloads page, make sure you are looking for the two apps I listed above — don’t look for any software with ColorMunki in the name, because there isn’t any, maybe that’s why you didn’t see it? Because when I go to the Calibrite software downloads page I linked to earlier, the screen shot below shows what I see, two apps that both list support for various ColorMunki models. I think ccStudio replaced i1Studio.

Unfortunately I don’t have a BenQ display, so I don’t know what to do for that issue…

I had to get it for my i1 Display because the old X-Rite wouldn't support it. Maybe due to Sequoia? It was around $40 I think. Easier to use I found. The OP Uses Windows but I found for Mac it offered more screen options and it took a while to find this info. My 2019 iMac was getting a red tint using White - LED. This may be the same for Windows so something to look out for.

Have discovered that the ColorMunki device is working. That is, it functions when using i1 Studio app. The problem is that it doesn't work when using Palette Master Element for color profiling a BenQ monitor. Palette Master and ColorMunki worked successfully for a number of years. Its previous use was about 3 or 4 months ago. Attempted to update monitor color profile last week. For reasons yet to be found, Palette Master no longer recognizes the ColorMunki device. A few times while attempting to get the app to function a pop-up window appeared with the following message or something to the effect: api-ms-win-shcore-scaling-l1-1-1.dll is missing. Have searched the Win 7 computer for the entry. It wasn't found. Now considering whether the dll is necessary for Palette Master to recognize the ColorMunki. As previously described, the ColorMunki device works as I was able to successfully profile the BenQ monitor using i1 Studio. Palette Master Element is preferred as it seems to provide more accurate color profiles.

Regarding Conrad Chavez's response and the link he shows, when I go to the Calibrite website the same X Rite ColorMunki Display is not shown on their download site. It only shows the other three displays. Contacting Calibrate directly resulted in being told ColorMunki is no longer supported. Curious if the site shown is recent. In any event, the ColroMunki works and was successfully used to calibrate my BenQ monitor.

Again…that’s odd. I took that screen shot within a few minutes of when I made that post. I just went back to the same downloads link right now, and I see the exact same page I took a screen shot of above, listing the ColorMunki in the three separate places I highlighted in the screen shot. I wonder why you’re seeing something different?

I did find the same screen. However, there is no way to download the colormunki display app. Contacted Calibrite. They no longer support the device. However, BenQ do provide a download.

Please note: Carefully read what is shown on the Calibrite website. The Colormunki is listed with other devices but not included in the downloads. The download is for Win 8.1, 10 and 11. Win 7 is not listed. Moreover, contacting Calibrite directly and asking if a download is available for the Colormunki for Win 7 OS , I was told there isn't one.

Here is additional information about using the ColorMunki Photo to calibrate a BenQ SW2700PT monitor using BenQ's Palette Master Element. Successfully calibrated the monitor after several attempts. I don't have an explanation for the failures. Neither did the tech person communicated with at BenQ. As previously noted, calibration performed several months ago proceeded through calibration with success.

I couldn't find a direct download link for the XRite ColorMunki Photo device software. However, I suggest checking the official XRite website or contacting their support team. They can provide the most up-to-date software and assistance for your specific device.
I doubt it, because as discussed in this thread, they sold that part of their business to Calibrite.

I can confirm that Calibrite no longer provides a download for the colormunki photo device. See my October 20, 2024 response.
