Color not even close to correct anymore.

So I have arrived at a total loss for what in the world is going on here. The problem would seem to be located within lightroom and appears to go though all pictures. I will give the breakdown and technical details of what I am running into....

The other day I moved my office to the basement, and started processing some pictures, and was having a rather hard time getting some colors to come out correctly. I thought it was just AWB from shooting inside an ice hockey rink. Ok no biggie. I re-ran color calibration with the i1 Display... re-checked the pictures in lightroom, and though they were very yellow, and dark. In frustration I exported a few, and the differences were MASSIVE.

So far I have re-run calibration and re-calibrated the screens again. (Everything else looks fine, PS, Web Browser, Image viewer...) Lightroom seems to be making the changes I am pushing in which were large red/tint adjustments as seen in the photo below... I am just at a total loss for what is causing this. The image attached shows the difference in what I am getting currently.

LG L2'''C monitors
Calibrated with Gretamacbeth i1 Display
Lightroom 1.4.1 (Installed clean, however DB has been around since version 1.' Beta)

Try removing any monitor presets and possibly re-install your video drivers.

Is this also happening with newly imported photos, or in another catalog? Are you converting files from RAW to DNG?

It appears to be across all photos, all photos are being left as RAW, older photos are jpg with the same issue. Lightroom appears to be the only app effected by it.

When you say what settings you mean on the i1?

Monitor presets in lightroom? Could you point me in the right direction?

Actually let me be a bit clearer.... this appears to be happening to every photo in lightroom, new/old, jpg/raw. This seems be be some color setting that lightroom is adjusting to somehow, but I am at a loss for where/how.

More weirdness???

Ok so I re-installed CS2. CS2 colors in Photoshop match what I am seeing in lightroom, every other program matches the image displayed in the other window of the image. Now I really am confused.

You have a bad monitor prifile, is my guess.

Grrrr... Ok then it would seem the issue IS the profile being generated by the i1 Display. Apparently when I tried to roll back to the default ICC profile earlier it didn't save. Well at least I now know what is causing my issue now... on to trying to figure out what the hell with it.

Try setting it to a default sRGB profile, that will confirm the problem is with the generated profiles or not.

Well I just confirmed, it is without a doubt the generated profiles. If I am going through the advanced calibration, when you hit the RGB section, it doesn't seem to be reading the color correctly from the screen, green is the only section that is reading, and blue and red stay at 1''% Green comes up to the normal section after turning the monitor up to about 95% green in the settings.

I am guessing the i1 is dead?

Depends on what settings you are inputting to the i1.

It should be 12' Cd/M2 brightness, 65''k (or Native for LCD), gamma 2.2.

D5' (5'''k) would look yellow.. Both Photoshop and Lightroom view through the profile, very few others do, hence seeing it in these programs and not the others.

I'm assuming you're on PC, so this software calibrator might give you a start profile, to see if the i1 is the issue: http://www.hex2bit.com/products/product_mcw.asp
I don't recommend using the profile long term, it's just to test..

Thanks for the reply, it would appear the i1 is no longer reading brightness and temp properly. I was going though advanced calibration, and it changes from 22'' when measuring the tungsten lighting in the room to 24'' degrees when I hit it with a 12' taclight. I used the tool you posted earlier, and got a profile good enough to work until the replacement gets here. Thanks for every ones help in this.

I will say, being the fan of lightroom that I am not sure why I haven't seeked out some good user forums yet. Looks like I have found a good group here, and look forward to becoming part of the community.

Well I just wanted to post a quick follow up, this was without a doubt the Eye-one. I got the replacement in last night, hooked it up, and have wonderful color again.
