Hi folks. Long time lurker, occasional poster here.
I've been using LR since it came out v1.' and I've been very impressed.

I recently upgraded my PC to windows 7, 64 bit. I had to massage the drivers for my printer and scanner, but i have them working well, except for one thing with respect to the scanner.

When I scan images, I typically assign sRGB as the color space and jpeg as the file format. These images look fine in the scanner preview, in the Windows image viewer, in Canon's Digital Photo Pro, but when i import them to LR 2.5, they are awash in red and really look lousy.

I experimented with different color management outputs from the scanner and have not been the least bit satisfied with the way the images appear in LR. For me, the sRGB jpeg is tops in color, contrast, and noise/tone in all of the apps I have which can display jpegs, EXCEPT LR, where it looks like hot garbage.

Any thoughts?

I guess the first questions will be about your monitor calibration, where do you stand there?

I know we have at least a couple of scanner power-users here, I'm hopeful they'll be able to contribute.

Monitors are both calibrated to the same standard profile i created with my spyder - images look the same on both monitors, and my printer is matched as well - images that look good on screen print well, images that look like a failed experiment (i.e. in LR) print poorly.

The issue is the way LR is handling the color data, as opposed to the host of other applications i have which can display the same image - it's not the scanner either - the scanner is doing its job just fine. If i'm not a LR user, and I use, say, Digital Photo Professional instead, i don't have a problem - it must be something with respect to a setting or preference in LR and I'll be darned if i can find anything . ..
