Can you change the background color from white to black when you make a contact sheet?

Welcome to Lightroom Forums Naxxy!

You can't but you can try a large black border tough. I know. It is not the same...

Think I maybe able to help this is a quote from a LR2 reference book. I have not tested this myself yet but I plan to give it a try.

Go to PS - Create New Doc...same size as your contact sheet.
Fill with solid colour - Save as JPG
Make a copy as photo to use as your ID Plate.
Check box - Render behind image.
Good luck, hope this works.

Edit: you may need to save as PNG.

Just tested that idea...its back to the drawing board, it does not work, so it looks like you will have to add a colour boarder around your image using PS or whatever. Pity about that it would have worked just fine because you can adjust the Opacity of the ID Plate. When I made an A4 template I got a warning, file too large.
