HI all.

First time post - but very long time LR user.

Has anybody else noticed that all of a sudden their Lightroom collections are now being forced into groupings of collection sets, smart collections then 'dumb' collections.

I know many of us use John Beardsworth's Collections workflow (thanks John for all your expert and personal help over the years!), that enforced order using 1.01, 1.02 etc. But all my collections are now being automatically organised into the above grouping order.

Any reason for this? Have I changed a setting somewhere that forces this? It's making a hell of a mess of my organisation.

BTW, the only change i have made recently (one month back) was a wipe and reinstall of Windows 10 and LR/PS after LR failed to start or even uninstall/reinstall, complaining constantly of 'symbolic link' errors. Adobe could not work it out after a week of .lrcat checking and 'remote access tooling', though they did comment on how complicated my library was. I'm sure my collection order was fine before this.

No, nothing has changed. My collections and collection sets are still in alphabetical order, just like they always were and regardless of whether they are smart or dumb collections.

If you click on the "+" at the end of the Collections panel header you will see there are two sort orders listed: Sort by Name, and Sort by Kind. If looks as though you have Sort by Kind enabled, whereas you may prefer Sort by Name.
