Lightroom Version Number
Lightroom Classic 10.1
Operating System
  1. macOS 10.15 Catalina
Lightroom CC 10.1. This is probably an easy question, but can the folder list on the right be changed to show folders in Descending Order? I sort my photos in 12 folders per year (YYYY / YYYY-MM) . Omitting many folder for brevity, my hierarchy is currently displayed as
  • Master Photo Storage
    • 2002
    • 2003
    • 2019
      • 2019-01
      • 2019-02
      • 2019-12
    • 2020
      • 2020-10
      • 2020-11
      • 2020-12
I would like it to display as

  • Master Photo Storage
    • 2020
      • 2020-12
      • 2020-11
      • 2020-10
    • 2019
      • 2019-12
      • ....etc
Can this be done?

Folders are listed by a database query, and the app then verifies their existence via OS calls. Just as folders can be filtered, it would be perfectly possible for Adobe to display them in reverse order. Make a feature request here.

This sort order is a function of the Operating system and numeric sort characteristics. Lightroom has nothing to do with the computer sort of the folder panel so it can’t be changed.
