Catalog size max

Currently running 1.4.1
I'd like to upgrade to 2.'

I have 365'' images and growing fast. 5''' per month.
Can LR handle an unlimited number of images?
Setting up different catalogs for each job is not what i want to do.

Will it crash and loose all the data?

Hi Dirtylense, welcome to the forum!

There's not technically a maximum, although it may slow to a crawl when it gets too big, depending on your system spec.

If it does, you could try an alternative - a 'working' catalog of current files, which you then import in a huge slower 'archive' catalog. Best of both worlds.

With it crashing - it *shouldn't*, but it's always sensible to let LR run regular backups, just in case, in addition to your normal backups.
