Catalog being used by another program?

I recently imported my catalog from my PC to my laptop. No problems at first but one day I went to open LR2 and a message said that the catalog I wanted to open was being used by another program. I restarted my computer several times but I am still encountering the same issue. If any body could help I would sure appreciate it.

Kali, welcome. To help us help you could you please take a moment to fill in your signature in the "userCP' that is found in the nav-bar at the top left of the page - thanks.
You may want to check in the folder where the catalog is kept and check for a .lrcatlock file. With LR closed remove this and restart LR. If there is a .lrcatjournal file DO NOT REMOVE THIS.

Thanks Kiwigeoff, that worked. I don't know how or what a .lrcatlock file. is but I had one, deleted it and it fixed my problem. YOU ROCK!!

That file can rarely get left behind when LR is not closed correctly. Removing it lets the cat file be opened.
