Can't update to LR 2016.6.1

Having trouble updating to CC version 2016.6.1 (on a Mac OS X 10.11.the_latest. Creative Cloud appears to download the update fine but then fails with an error dialog which offers mare details in the log. That says, among other things...

I just updated both LR and Camera Raw via Adobe CC. I had no problems or issues - however I am on a Windows system.

Shouda gotta PC eh? To make things just a wee bit worst, I can't open LR at all. So whatever the installer has done, it's messed up my current version.

Guess my next question...

Has 2016.6.1 fixed the dreaded memory leak issues which have plagued photographers across the planet?

As much as I love Lr which I've used daily since Lr Beta and Lr's Grand-daddy RawShooter before that, I can't think of any other app that has attracted such criticism and scrutiny related to performance issues that simply shouldn't have happened. Each release has aspects of that uneasy Beta feel about it. A release candidate should be mercilessly tested until it's rock solid. Fingers crossed for 2016.6.1

I don't know! I don't know if I'd recognise a memory leak if it hit me on the head. How can I tell. what should I look for?

With 2016.6 the memory leak tends to manifest as a completely uncharacteristic performance dive in Lr. Nobody seems to have diagnosed the exact triggers, but it's real. Not everyone is affected.

I'm still having memory leak problems on a Win 10 PC, 64-bit with 32GB RAM. LR is up to date AFAIK (2015.6.1). Just this morning, I had a message that my browser window had crashed and that I needed to close Adobe Photoshop Lightroom because it was taking two much memory. Very frustrating.
