Can't rename files with original filename

I want to rename all my files with the original filename. This worked fine for a while and then it would not rename the files with the ORIGINAL filename, but only with the current filename. I tried restoring Filename Templates and Text Templates in Preferences, but nothing happened. Can anybody help me with this problem please?Thanks, Kay

PS: I am now using Lightroom 2.5 and Mac 1'.6.1

Hi there, sorry your thread's got a bit lost. If you go to the Metadata panel, and set it to show All, what name shows up as the original filename?
