Hi all-

I've done some searches, so apologies if this has been addressed a thousand times before!

BUT,

I just got a new Vista 64 machine and can't get the LR2.' U/G registration to "take" -- it keeps telling me that the software will expire -- even after I input both the new LR2.' upgrade serial number and the old 1.4.1 serial number -- same as I did on my old machine (which works fine).

Even after entering all the info, everytime I start LR2.', I get the same dialog box asking for a serial number or to continue the trial (tic-toc, tic-toc).

Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Thanks so much -- this is really frustrating!

Welcome aboard Gian.
Some Windows person will be along shortly !!;)

Thanks for the tip -- alas I followed both methods outlined in the TechNote and neither worked.

The note describes changing permissions via regedit in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Classes > VirtualStore > MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Adobe > Lightroom > 1.' > Registration

...But I can't find the Virtual Store folder within HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Classes... so that's a real bummer...

27 days and ticking on my license... anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks!

Solved!!! Woohoo.

So, after half an hour on hold, Adobe helped me fix it in 2 minutes... here's how:

1) Right click on the LR 2.' Icon and select "Run as Administrator."
2) Enter serial numbers & registration info
3) Done -- off to the races!

That was easy.
