Hi! I have a problem with some of my pictures. I've imported them into lightroom from my memory card and can se and work with them just fine. I can also find the pictures in explorer and open them with Photoshop. But I can't open the from Lightroom into Photoshop. I try to rightclick and then choose "Edit in Photoshop CS4", but all that happens is tat photoshop opens and then the "open as" box. No image appears. This happend one time before, but then I just reimported the images and the it workes. I've tried that now, but it doesen't help.
Can someone help me! The images are for a magazine and the deadline is soon! What do I do, what is wrong?

How do I get my signarture or whateveritscalled to show her on the forum? 'Cause in that I recently wrote down everything..
Anyway, I have CS4, so that shouldn't be the problem. I've been opening pictures into Ligthroom always before, it's just this time that it doesn't work, with these new pictures I took today.
Help!

What kind of files? If they're raw files, do you get the dialog that asks whether to render using Lightroom or open anyway? If not, go to Preferences and press the 'reset warning dialogs' button and try it again.

Now I have deleted the photos several times, and removes them from the catalog, and when I imported the for the 11th time or something it worked... Can it be that there is something wrong with my memorycard?
@Victoria: It's rawfiles, and I dont get that dialog, I'll try reseting them.

That's quite bizarre! It's possible... or the card reader. Although, if you were able to view and work on the photos in Lightroom, then they should be just fine.

LR2 + CS3 works just fine. i then got CS4, installed it and it become my default external processor... suddenly "Edit in PS CS4" stopped working properly, the same open window, is well known issue...

I found the solution on Adobe forums, that is set PS as second external editor...things worked just fine...

Then the LR 2.2 update was released and after i installed that version everything came back to normal, PS CS4 default external processor option worked just fine.

Now, LR2.3 also works flawlessly...

so, my suggestion is to update LR to 2.2 or 2.3 version... the problem was PS CS4 and LR 2.' compatibility.
Even if u use PS as second external editor, that should work, all the other options will not, will just behave like u said...
"open as smart object", "merge to HDR", "merge to panorama" "open as layers" were also affected by this bug.

PS: i mention above bug description happened under Vista X64 OS, i do not know if under WinXP things were the same.

That's an excellent observation Liviu, and you're right, it was one of the known bugs in 2.'.

Oh, thanks alot for that last tip! I will emediately uppgrade, have ignored it so far!
Souds just like my problem, but sometimes it's so difficult to explain when english isn't your first language.
Many thanks
