Hello everyone.

I just recently tried to load some plugins in Lightroom. I was told I simply need to double click a plugin, and lightroom should install it. I realize I can copy the plugin to the modules folder, but I was curious what might be causing lightroom to not install the plugins itself.

When I double click the plugin, lightroom opens and I get a message telling me: "Warning - No photos were found to import”

Any ideas?

Hi kelchm, welcome to the forum!

Double-clicking to install? That's not one I've come across. Are you Mac or PC based?

But go to File > Plugin Manager and that will allow you to point to the plugin to install.

hmmmm. I could have sworn I read that I could install plugins with double clicking.

Anway, it seems to me that simply adding a pluging fom the plugin manager doesn't really accomplish much. IE, if I add the plugin from the download directory and then delete the file in the download directory I loose the plugin. With that in mind isn't the best way to install it simply to add it to the module folder itself?

This automatically causes it to show up in the plugins manager so it is effectively a one step process. Is that right or am I missing something?

That works great kelchm, but you can't disable a plugin from within the plugin manager if it's in the Modules folder (you actually have to go move it), so just be aware of that.
