I am having no success trying to install Lightroom 2 from the CD. When the CD is inserted no install program starts. When I then look at the files on the CD in Windows explorer I do not see any kind of autorun file or setup file I could click on to start the installation. Any ideas on how I ca get the installation process to start? TIA

Have you tried right-clicking on the drive in My Computer and choosing Open? That will sometimes kick off the run process.

If that doesn't work, can you provide some more details? Which version of Windows are you running? Is the CD/DVD directly from Adobe? Can your computer play DVDs or just CDs?

Taz, welcome to the forums.

1) Do you see a *.msi file? If so, double-click that.
2) Better, if you have a decent internet connection, just download the current version Lr 2.3 here. It's a big file 11'MB+, but you should upgrade to it anyway. The serial number furnished with your disk will work to authorize it.

Welcome Tazman!

As Brad said, go with option #2 download 2.3 and install with the serial number you got with the CD. The reason is that there are problems with 2.' that were fixed and you will want to go for 2.3 anyway. There is no need to have a previous 2.x version and you can start direct at 2.3 from the download from Adobe. See Brad's link above.
