A strange thing is happening with Lightroom CC.
I want to add photos which already exist on my Win 7 PC hard drive to my catalog. I have done the following:
The Import and Cancel buttons are dimmed and cannot be clicked!
After extensive experimenting i discovered that I do not have this problem when the LR window is displayed maximized on my 2nd monitor (resolution 1680x1050) but when I have the window displayed maximized on my main monitor (resolution 2560x1440) it doesn't work. If I resize the window manually and make it less wide, the Import and Cancel buttons suddenly become active!
So for some odd reason, when the window is maximized at this higher resolution, the buttons can't be pressed. It responds as if the software cannot detect that the mouse is over the buttons because they don't "light up" when I hover over them.
I've attached 2 images of different size windows which show the cursor hovered over the Import button. One illustrates the Import button is not active and one indicates it is.

- File -> Import Photos and Video
- For source - I select the folder containing the photos
- The list of photos in the folder appears (grid view, small thumbnails)
- ALL of the photos have a checkmark in the upper left corner
- Add is chosen at the top of the screen
- All photos is chosen
- Build Previews is 1:1
- Build smart previews is unchecked
- Don't import suspected duplicates is checked
- Add to collection is unchecked
- Develop Settings: None
- Metadata: None
- Keywords - empty
- Sort: Capture Time
- Import Preset: None
