Hi All
I must have at one stage dismissed a picture from face recognicion. However I found a name to a person and want to asign it in "People" view. I can highlight the photos, can go into that folder, the pictures never show up in "people" view!
What needs to be done??

Select the image that contains the face that you want to name, click on the Keyword tab. Any faces in that image should appear above the keywords, and if it's an unnamed face you can name it there, then it will appear in the "People" view.

For some reason, which I really don't understand (and have told Adobe this), they decided to only show unnamed faces in the "People" view if there are at least 5 instances of the face in a cluster. No issue with named faces, the cluster will appear even if there's only one face in the entire library, but finding it to name in the first place is more difficult when there are less than 5.

Hello Jim
I tried now everything. there are 19 pictures of a person in the strip. For reasons unknown I could select the last one and name it in the peoples view. The others are are just not Showing. I named them in the keyword tab , but no way they show in the people view. If I select all the faces of the person in that strip and select in the "photo" tab in the dropdown menu people>move to unnamed people, ONLY the last(previously) selected pic is selectable to be named afterwards. The other pictures are still ignored!
something is very wrong here

Apologies....my first response was wrong as I had incorrectly assumed that you were referring to the new face recognition tool in the cloud-based LRCC.

So now that I realise you're talking about LR Classic, if you right-click on the one face that is named and select "Find Similar Faces", do the others appear in the "Similar" panel (where they can be named)? If not, select one of the unnamed images and go to the Loupe view and enable the face region display (on the toolbar) to see if the face does show the rectangular region around it (where it can also be named). If it doesn't, then I'd guess you have previously opted to delete the face regions, so you'll have to redraw the region around the face (click and drag to draw the rectangle around the face), then you can name it.
