Recently have not been able to email photos from LRc. I get an error message saying : "Failed to establish connection with outgoing email server." Make sure you have entered the email account & password correctly.
I finally found the Outgoing server settings, but it won't let me put an authentication method in and it will not validate.
Please advise

Steven

I have found that sending emails from apps in general is somewhat finicky so I just usually don't do it. Instead export the images to a temp folder using an export template to create files of apporpriate size for emailing. Then use your reqgular email client and attach the images to the message.

There are just too many moving parts. POP3 vs iMap vs Exchange - host server settings - security requirements of host server - Etc.

I got email working from LrC, but it took so much effort at the time and needed deeper skills than I was prepared to tamper with as a routine task.

I have a preset called Export for Web/Email, set to sRgB, 2048 pixels on the long side at 80% compression. I have the option to open the exported emails in Finder / Explorer, where they are waiting for me to drag to my email client.

Yeah, that's what I finally did. Sent photos to a file on the desktop then emailed from that. Spent way too much time looking for a solution.
Thank you

Many Mail Servers require a two factor authentication with the mail client. If the client is the Lightroom app it can get complicated. I'm not sure Adobe has updated the LR email process since it was first introduced and like the others, I find emailing photos from exports is a lot easier than trying to authenitcat the LrC mail client.

Yeah, that’s a frustrating one—I’ve run into something similar before.

Adobe removed built-in email support from Lightroom Classic (LrC) starting with version 12.3. So if you're using a newer version, the old email functionality (SMTP settings, etc.) just doesn’t work anymore. They quietly phased it out, probably because of security issues and how email services keep tightening up authentication.

Your best workaround now is to export the photo(s) to your desktop and then attach them manually in your email client (Outlook, Gmail, etc.). Not as convenient, I know, but that’s the way Adobe is steering things.

Alternatively, if you're using a plugin that previously allowed emailing directly, it might need an update or just not be supported anymore.

Hope that helps clear things up!
