Help! I have used Lightroom for well over a year, and have the most current version (2.3). I recently upgraded to a Canon 5D Mark II, and cannot open the images in Photoshop CS4 through Lightroom via the "edit in" command.

This is extremely frustrating. I have Camera Raw 5.3.

I've seen the topic on here before but the fixes seem very complicated. Any updates?

Many thanks,

Maris

Welcome maris ehlers.

A few questions. Can you update your signature (Quick Links > Edit Signature) with some of your system specs? That often helps in troubleshooting.

Also, are you trying to open the RAW files or do you convert to DNG first? If RAW, have you tried converting to DNG to see if that fixes it?

Thanks,
Brian

There ought to be no issues with doing what you want, please fill in your signature and let us know what is happening, messages, etc. Thanks.

Not able to take 5dM2 files from Lightroom to Photoshop

I am not able to go from Lightroom 2.3 to Photoshop CS3 with the images from my Canon 5dm2. Photoshop opens but no image loads.

Thanks

Hi Keith, welcome to the forum!

CS3 doesn't know what to do with the 5Dmk2 data, as it wasn't supported by ACR until version 5.2, which is a CS4 version.

You've got 2 options:

1. Buy CS4

2. Go to Lightroom Preferences and press Reset All Warning Dialogs. When you next try to open a raw file into CS3, it'll bring up a dialog that looks like this:
renderusinglr-45'x152.jpg

You'll need to press Render Using Lightroom which will create a TIFF or PSD file (according to your preferences) and pass that to Lightroom. Bit more blurb on that here: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/blog/2''8/12/18/lightroom-22-compatibility-with-cs3/
