I just downloaded the trial version and also bought Scott Kelby's Lightroom 2 book and have been following step by step. When I tried importing some jpegs none of them showed up and a box popped up saying "some import operations were not performed". The folder is empty.
I tried it again and LR created another folder and it is empty and I got the same message.
I must be doing something wrong and would appreciate any assistance.

Thanks!

Carolyn

Is that the entire message? Is there another sentence giving hints as to why? ( like files too big-not in your case; files not supported or something like that)

That was the message.
I didn't get any info as to why they would not import. I tried a third time to import just one photo (jpeg from a card reader) and it never went through. After a half hour I tried to close LR and it said it was "copying and importing" and did I want to close it. I did but it was taking too long to respond and I got the "do you want to force quit" box because LR wasn't responding.
I had to force quit LR, attempted to restart my MacBook Pro and then my Mac got hung up so I had to shut down manually.
Also, at restart (which took longer than usual), I got a message saying the disk inserted in my computer cannot be read. Strange because I had no disk in the computer. I think LR is not working with my Mac for some reason.
Any help is very much appreciated.

Just an update....I tried importing photos using my Canon memory card that came with my 45'D and I was able to do it and then tried it again with the original memory card and it imported them. Maybe it needed a restart but I find it odd that my Mac was not recognizing my card reader earlier.

OK-I guess the issue is resolved; you posted a response as I was typing. .

As for the other problems mentioned with the Mac, I am of no help since I use a PC user. I am sure the other Mac users on this forum can help trouble your issues.
