Hey everybody
I'm new on this forum and after searching for answer to my problem on Google I found this place.
I have a problem when I try to import pictures in LR from my cardreader.
I have a seperate drive for my pictures with about 2' folders and a lot of subfolders on it.
In LR they all show up, I can work with the pictures, no problems there.
When i want to import new pictures from my card and try to choose the location to copy the new pictures to it only shows my last used folder. And there is nothing i can do to show the other folders...
I have added a printscreen to clarify it.
I'm using Vista 64bit as OS.

I'm hoping somebody can help me with this problem, it's driving me insane.

So, what exactly is the problem? Can you describe it just a bit more specifically? In the choose folder dialog/browser that's showing there, you can't navigate to some specific folder?

Using the nomenclature of that dialog, where are you trying to get to? e.g J:\Lightroom Stuff\Chrono\2''9

The reason I ask, is that from the screen shot, it seems as if Lr's doing what it's supposed to. What problem are we supposed to be seeing?

I can't navigate to specific folders.
In the choose folder dialog/browser you can see:

-EOS DIGITAL (H:)
-Local Disk(I:)
-Pictures
-Photoshop
-Removable Disk(J)

When I navigate to the folder "Pictures" it is only showing 1 folder(Photoshop) inside.
There are about 2' other folders inside the folder "Pictures".
Those are not showing up, I cannot choose them inside this dialog/browser.

It's supposed to look like this:

-EOS DIGITAL (H:)
-Local Disk(I:)
-Pictures
-1 jaar samen 23-'4-'9
-Abelag '8-'7-'6
-Abelag 22-'7-'6
-Afro Latino 2'-'6-'9
-Afro Latino 21-'6-'8
-Amsterdam Open 2''8
-Photoshop
-...
-Removable Disk(J)

If you look on the left of the screenshot you can see the folderstructure.
The folders are there, I don't know why they aren't showing up in the dialog/browser.

In the "Browse for files or folders" dialog box, what if you double click on "pictures"? Actually, the focus is on "Local disk (I:) and it is normal that you only see "Photoshop" for now as the "Import Photos from H:" dialog box is showing the last "Copy to: I:\Pictures\Photoshop".

OK, now we understand exactly where the problem lies.

That's a new one on me, I'd say have a look at the standard Troubleshooting Steps, with special attention to #4.
If none of that helps, let us know what happened.

Edit: I'm wondering if there may be issues with nonstandard/accented characters or something similar in the folder names? What happens if you give one of the problem folders a temporary test name, such as 'test'?

I tried all the steps from "Troubleshooting Steps".
And also tried your suggestion with renaming a folder to "test".
It didn't help :icon_neutral:

@sizzlingbadger: How can I check the folder permissions? Or what should I do next?
Could this be a problem with Vista 64bit?

If it was myself I would first try to import one dummy to I:Pictures so the next time the dialog box don't show "Photoshop" under it. Then at the next import, double click "Pictures" to expand. Maybe it will wake up? :icon_idea:

Ok, this works. Tried it a couple of times.
So I have to import 1 dummy picture into I:Pictures every time before I want to import my pictures.
Very strange but at least its usable now :)

Do you mean that once you imported a dummy at I:\Pictures then after that you were able to select something else than I:\Pictures\Photoshop? And that after inporting in the folder structure you wanted it reverted back to the original problem?
