Can you export previews (when not hooked to volume)?

I have my catalog with previews, but I'm on travel and not attached to the volume storing the negatives. I just need to share a low-res copy of my photo, the preview image would work perfectly. Anyway to export a preview without resorting to screenshot?

You can try LRViewer, a free software that reads the catlog/previews and lets you export them.

Jeffrey Friedl also has a plugin that does this from within Lightroom.

I couldn't get the standalone program to work. However, the plug-in worked great.
