Can LR fix barrel and pincushion distortion?

[Sgt_Strider]

If not, will I need Photoshop CS4? I'm currently a student and apparently I can get an academic license for under $2'' after tax. I'm leaning on buy a license and use it with PTLens to fix some distortions, but I'm not sure if it's worth buying if LR can do the job. So can it?

No, LR does not have the ability at this time. Sounds like a good buy for CS4 !!

Sgt_Strider,
You can set PT Lens up as an external editor in Lightroom. That is the way I am using PT Lens.

Here's the thing though. LR's editing is non-destructive and PS is destructive. Is there any way to just use PS to edit the images on a non-destructive basis?

Maybe edit as a Smart Object.
