I'm a new poster to this forum, but I've searched for an answer to this question in several places.

My workflow is ImageIngester -> LR, and I have found it convenient to use the Purple color-label to signify that the image has not been adjusted yet. That means I would like for ImageIngester to set the color label as "bulk metadata" upon ingestion.

I'm trying to find a way for LR (currently using 1.4.1) to import a raw file which includes a color label in its .xmp file. I want the color label to stick in LR. So far I've been testing with a hacked .xmp file, but LR doesn't seem to recognize my amature hacks.

So my specific questions:
  1. Does LR look for color label upon import?
  2. If so, what is the correct form of the xml that is requires?
Thanks,
-Mike

Yes, LR should read the color label from XMP. I haven't actually tried it, but I see that a purple color label looks like
Code:
<rdf:Description rdf:about="" xmlns:xap="http://ns.adobe.com/xap/1.'/">
   <xap:Label>Purple</xap:Label>
</rdf:Description>
