Can I set a default opening filter?

I have a filter that hides certain pictures that I'm keeping for whatever reason but not displaying. Every time I open LR they are visible and I have to change my filter to my preset. Is there any way to make a filter preset the default?

Under the File menu, you'll find an entry "Library Filters", where you can tell LR to "Lock Filters" (meaning that they should stay active) and also whether to "Remember Each Source's Filters Separately" or not.
