Can I recover .psd file back to Lightroom?

Newbie to Lightroom here...I edited my files in Lightroom and took them to CS3, made adjustments and (thought) I had my final version so I saved the file as .psd in CS3.

Problem! When I go to view the file again in Lightroom, the .psd file is TERRIBLE looking green. Even worse, when I initially see the thumbnails as they are loading, they look GREAT! But when Lightroom gets done loading the thumbnails the .psd's that I saved in CS3 look awful. Then when I try to pull the file up again in CS3, it remains awful-looking.

Question....what the heck happened to my great looking edited file after I pulled the Lightroom-edited file to CS3 for a final edit and hit save as (and saved it .psd)????????

Please help! I have to get this client's proofs finished (I thought I was already done until I realized something happened with the color) ASAP!!!!!

Wanted to Add....

One more question with this....

Now that I have the .tiff file with the LR adjustments and the ugly .psd version from CS3, can the two be somehow merged together? How do I get the adjustments I made to the file in CS3 to merge with the LR adjusted file? I THOUGHT that was what I was doing in CS3.

Something sounds odd here Taylor, but just try something before we go any further.

OUTSIDE of LR, just open that PSD into CS3 (i.e. right click > show in Explorer/Finder and double click to open directly. Does it look ok? If so, it gives us a good clue where to look.

Victoria, Thank you for trying to help me. I really appreciate it. I am getting ready to head to work but I did open the PSD into CS3. It does not look ok. What I have are two files. One is the TIFF that has the LR adjustments. The other is the LR-edited TIFF which I made adjustments to in CS3. Then I chose "Save As" and deselected where it asked to embed the color profile and I saved it as a PSD. What I had left on my screen looked great but then when I close it out and view it whether in LR or in CS3 the color is bad.

I'm working on a brand new iMac. No monitor calibrations have been done and I am using Proof Setup Custom ICC profile to my print lab.

Oh, I sure appreciate any help. I am really stressed out over this. I don't want to re-edit the entire session :-(

Can't understand why initially, the thumbnails of the LR+CS3 edited file look fine but when LR finishes actually "loading" all the thumbnails, that's when you can see that the PSD looks bad & when it's opened, that's confirmed bad color. :-(

Ah, sounds like you've possibly embedded an incorrect profile, or simply removed the profile altogether. I'd open it in CS3, and go to Edit > Assign Profile and try sRGB, AdobeRGB and ProPhotoRGB, and also your Custom ICC, to see if that makes it look right again. And when it does, save it again, and make sure you embed the profile this time.

As to why it looks ok to start with, I'd guess it's reading the file, and then taking a guess at the profile when it builds the preview properly.
