Lightroom Version Number
None yet, but hoping to find one I can use.
Operating System
  1. Other (please note in thread)
The subscription versions do not run on El Capitan.
I have a nice 2008 MacPro that will not upgrade beyond El Capitan.
So, I can't use the current Lightroom on it.
I've asked at the Adobe site via screen help and they just say, basically, too bad about that.
Does anyone know a way I can use Lightroom on my old MacPro ?

I've not used Lightroom before, but I'm setting up to copy all my old film negs and slides to digital and it seems like Lightroom is the best software choice for doing that.

I would install TR6. Be careful not to touch Face recognition, and run no additions, except DeHaze.
LTR5 is OK too, but does not have DeHaze.

Only the subscription plan are being sold by Adobe. I would be leery of any copy of a perpetual license version of Lightroom (LR6) unless from a reputable commercial vendor selling NOS. Third parties selling copies of LR6 might be scammers or the copies might be "bootleg".

I've not been able to find any reputable seller of Lightroom 6.
Do they exist?

If not, that means I have to buy a new computer if I want to use Lightroom.

Can anyone suggest an alternative to Lightroom for the project of digitizing several decades of my film negs and slides?
It seems that Lightroom is very good at doing that.

Your digitizing hardware should produce TIFFs or JPEGs with the software that comes without Lightroom is primarily an app for organizing images. So why do you think you need Lightroom for digitizing film or slides ?
