Can I do this with Lightroom?

I am trying to build myself a website using Lightroom. I am not sure if this is such a good idea, I'm looking to add hyperlinks on the page that I am working on and I do not see that capability. I am using an older version, 1.1, which may be part of the problem. However, can some very patient person (or persons) explain if I am trying to make Lightroom do something it isn't designed to do? I am beginning to think that this is a GREAT tool for making pages with photos on it, but my main page should be created with some other tool... if so, any ideas on a web page tool that works well with Lightroom?

Hello,

You can do it in Lightroom but not with the web-modules that come with the installation. And I cannot remember how much(little) one could do with ver 1.1

However, I am using LR2.6 and together with three other modules I did this (still in som sort of beta):http://www.kinnas.se/nywebtest/hemsida4/index.html Two main modules from TheTurningGate (TTGStage and TTGPages) together with a FLashmodule (SlideshowPro). They are not free but well worth the little money.

Apart from buying these it takes time and for me that knows nothing of html and flash and css and... it took some trial end error.

I also know of people that can build the framework in WordPress or CSS or something else and you only need to know how to export a SlideShowPro from within LR.

I am sure other people in the forum has more to add.

I wasn't even aware you could purchase additional modules. I bought my LR almost 2 years ago with the intention of setting up my personal website but just getting around to it. I found a "like new" copy of Dreamweaver for $145 on amazon. I went ahead and purchased it. This is the CS3 version, not the newer CS4 but like Lightroom, I don't think I need all the bells and whistles, they would probably be wasted on me with my web skills!
