camera presets and applying them in profiles

OK, I've gone into preferences and set up my cameras as presets. I've shut down and opened up LR. Where are the camera presets so that I can apply them to my raw images?
Or does LR somehow detect which camera I'm using and apply them....? I'm watching the beginning of a Dave Kelly video. He switches from the Adobe Default profiles to a linear profile for his camera. I don't see my camera under profile. How does get to do what he is showing me in his video? I'm researched all over the place and now I'm coming here to see if I can find a solution.

If you setup a preset as camera default, then you do not have to do anything else. The preset will be applied to all images from that particular camera on import. That’s the whole point of a camera default!

Linear profiles are not in Lightroom by default. You have to get them and import them, then you can apply them to a raw image of that camera (linear profiles are raw profiles), either manually or by a preset (also the preset you setup as default).
