I use a custom tone calibration with my Nikon D7's.
When I select a camera calibration in Lightroom eg Standard does this or any other calibration overide the in camera selection?

Alan, welcome to the forums.

Yes, if you're talking raw, the Lr setting overides. In fact, your in camera selection has no impact at all. The only in camera processing Lr is able to understand is WB. (I'm a Canon user, so if this is some special capability of Nikon I'm not aware of, someone please correct me.)

This is due principally to the proprietary nature of mfgr's camera raw files, and the situation is the same with all brands.

I think your right Brad. I did some testing with Nikon's Active D-lighting and that seems to work in Aperture and LR but then discovered that the active D-Lighting processing is applied to the RAW data and is not just a RAW meta-data flag.
