Hi

I have a client, who wants to burn Raws and JPEGs on the same DVD. As the export only allows to export one format at the same time, we need to do the burning in two passes.

After burning the JPEGs first, on the second pass Lightroom or the burn driver reports that it cannot "read" the DVD and asks for a new disk.

Apparently the Lightroom burn procedure "closes" the DVD for further burn sessions.

Why is this so? Is there a workaround?

Often, we want to do a selection burn the images, do another selection and burn the other images on the same DVD. This does not seem possible.

Any tipps are welcome.

Kind regards

Thomas

Hi Thomas, welcome to the forum!

Instead of using LR's own burn, try exporting both formats to a folder and then using your normal burn software to burn it all to a DVD.

Hi Victoria

Thanks for the quick answer. your suggestion is something which we of course consider and already did. However, we tried to establish a Lightroom-only workflow and were stucked.

Can somebody confirm that Lightroom burning actually closes the disk, and if so why is it that way?

Kind regards

Thomas

I don't use the disc burning feature - it's fairly limited and there just for convenience - but it would make sense that it would automatically close the disc, otherwise there would be lots of complaints of people burning discs and not being able to view them properly!
