Bringing all my jpegs to my catalog

Hi guys,

I use lightroom only for my dslr photos, raw/dng files.

However, i'm considering to bring all of my jpegs from bridge camera, cell phone, gopro, etc to my catalog.

Is this a good idea? Any cons?

Sure. Why not? If you want to keep your JPEGs and do anything with them in the future, it makes sense to import them.

The only JPEGs I wouldn't bring into LR are ones that I've exported from LR. Those can always be re-created.

Why not?
Lightroom is designed primarily to manage an image collection - think of raw conversion/image editing as a tack-on.

Thanks guys . I've done that and now fighting to remove all the duplicates from a 20k catalog. Tried to use free teekesselchen plugin but didn't help much as I've identified dozens of false duplicates and dozens more of other duplicated photos that plugin clould identify. Has anyone tried payed duplicate finder plugin?
