I am having major problems with the book module in Lightroom CC Classic version 8.0 -- build 1193777.
Searching the internet and these forums shows that there are many bugs with this module. The most common recommendation is to revert to version 7.5. That is my next step. I have posted issues on Adobe feedback forum. Just one more report of such bugs. I have not seen indications that Adobe is working on fixes, but I'll assume they are.
I worked hours to design a new book, planning to publish it via Blurb. I saved a near-final version of the book, intending to come back to it later for further work. Then I found that the saved book is essentially not editable. I must start over. Luckily I at least printed a PDF version for proof reading purposes. I can use that to try to recreate the book. Only this time I *will not* use the "Create Saved Book" button.
Some of the problems while trying to further edit the saved book:
* Try to change a page layout, such as from two photos to three -- the change at first shows but then does not stick. If I move off the saved book (a collection apparently) and then back to the book -- the pages all revert to the old version.
* I decided to change the layout from 10x8 to 13x11. This cannot be done. After as dialog warning of possible unexpected changes -- the thumbnails sizes do not seem to change. Go off to another collection and return to the saved book -- all the page settings show the old size, etc.
* After saving the book, there is no longer a "Create Saved Book" button to save changes. I can find no way to edit the book and then save a revision. I can find no way to get the "Create Saved Book" button back.
So -- now it's time to revert to LR CC Classic version 7.5 and hope it will work better.
