Sometimes my slideshows play fine; other times, I hit the Play triangle and all I get is a black screen—no music, no show. The only to way to fix it is to quit and restart Lr (without taking time to back up the catalog). Then it works fine—until it hangs again, and there's no predicting when that will be. This is more than a minor annoyance when I'm in front of a group doing a presentation.

I can't predict when this will happen, or make it happen so I can analyze it. Sometimes a show will play fine several times in a row, even when I switch to another module and switch back. Other times it plays once and then hangs. And at other times, it won't play at all, not even the first time I hit Play.

I searched the forum for other posts on this. I see Victoria recommended upgrading the graphics driver to fix a similar problem. I'm on a very recent MacBook Pro, with a Radeon Pro 560x 4GB GPU, with a fast CPU and 16GB of memory, so I don't think it's a hardware problem. But I could be wrong.

Does anyone else experience this? Any theories about why this is happening and how to fix it?

Thanks for replying personally, Victoria. I looked at my plug-ins—I don't have that Logitech plug-in.

I'll go ahead and report this as a bug to Adobe via the Feedback site.
