Black and White conversion

Hi
I was at a CS2 presentation tonight, the speaker was talking about "Black & White Conversion" and mentioned the Adobe Lightroom, was a better "tool" than CS2, to convert images to Black & White, as LR has more refinements. This is something I have never done in LR2, would someone be willing to point me in the right direction, so I could "have a go" ie idiots guide.....

Any advice as always, welcomed,

In the HSL panel, click on Grayscale and wang away on the sliders.

Mix it with the white balance sliders and tone curve for even more fun
