This is under OS X 1'.4.11, PowerPC G5, LR 4 (also happened with 1.31). BTW - LR4 under OS X has been working fine, the following issue aside.
I was previously on 1.31
I've added a 6''G internal drive to the machine, and needed to move a folder which contained 1' sub-folders (about 135Gb) from the external Firewire drive to the new drive.
I created a new folder on the internal drive, then added a single image via LR so it would know about the new location. Then, in LR, I simply drug the folder on the Firewire drive to the new folder on the internal drive. LR began chugging away, apparently moving the files.
After some time, the task completed. However the catalog is now hosed! Of the 1' sub-folders, 3 seem to be intact, the other 7 are just empty!
AND - they are GONE from the Firewire drive, so it appears LR managed to THINK the files were moved, then deleted them from the source location! ARRGH! This could have been a major loss of original data had I not backed up the folder. So much for non-destructive handling of files!
Worse - it still thinks there is folder on the Firewire drive and does mark it red. When I try and tell it where the new location is, LR chugs away for a bit and mostly ignores the information, and nothing changes.
I think I've seen mention of where the XML for the catalog structure is kept. Does anybody know the path to this on OS X? Perhaps I could just hand edit the XML and fix it that way.
This is day 2 of an ongoing nightmare! :-(
