best way of syncing photos from one shoot

As you can see in the image I took pictures of several people with the same background. I used same WB and exposure settings on all pictures, but still there are subtle differences in exposure and background color, probably beacause my position and the subjects position changed a little from shot to shot...

What would be the best way to get the exact same background color?
Can I use one of the sync settings in LR? when I sync a particular setting, the differences will still be visible. Can I do some sort of histogram sync?

Hi Schegget, welcome to the forum!

In Develop module, have a look under the menus for Match Total Exposure. I can't remember which it's under offhand. I'm pretty sure our very own Sean McCormack did a video on it a while back. Perhaps he'll drop by with the link, if I can't find it.

Victoria is close but I didn't mentioned the trick because I can not see the option to change Lightroom' language anymore! :shock: (Having french interface today)

I will then guide you by menu position. From the Develop module, choose the Parameters menu. You will see 3 Synchronize options followed by the one we are talking about (Reproduire toutes les expositions).

I can't remember, but I think I changed the flash output a little during the shoot (and changed apperture along with it), so that could be what caused the variation....

What it's intended for is when you took multiple exposures, under the same lighting conditions with varying shutter/aperture settings. Adjust one image in Lr, and this Sync option will attempt to equalize the total Exposure Value (ISO, speed, f number) on all the remaining images, taking into account your sample adjustment.

So it's intended for the converse of your situation, that is where the lighting stayed the same, and the exposure settings were varied. For example, where you fiddled for depth of field, or for motion-blur, or stop-motion, or bracketed exposures.

Historical note, this is the brain-child of Lee Jay Fingersh, noted Lr Guru, who participates principally on the Adobe U2U, who lobbied insistently for its inclusion in the early stages of Lr's evolution.

Silly question... have you tried the Auto button? And then if the photos are all equally too bright or too dark, the buttons in the Quick Develop panel will allow you to adjust the settings relative to their existing settings.

Thanx for all your replies...I tried auto and tried all kind of sync settings.
But in the end I am finetuning every image comparing it to the 1st.
some of the changes are simple brightness and contrast settings, but in some of the pictures I have to adjust saturation and luminance for the yellows...
