Hi,

Is there any plan do have enhanced batch processing and/or scripting on LR3 to perform certain complex repetitive tasks?

For example:

EXPORTING the whole structure of collection (or folder), including its sub-collections (or sub-folders) into a destination folder on HDD which automatically creates destination folder structure ...

Imagine having a collections like this:

Holiday
Holiday - France
Holiday - France - 2''9
Holiday - France - 2''8
Holiday - Italy
and so on ...

Then user wants to export the whole "Holiday" collections into destination folder C:\Export\

Which then LR will create sub-folders automatically like this:

C:\Export\Holiday
C:\Export\Holiday\France
C:\Export\Holiday\France\2''9
C:\Export\Holiday\France\2''8
C:\Export\Holiday\Italy

And put exported photos underneath its folder ...

As of LR2, we have to manually create the destination folder structure and export each collection one-by-one.

Is this possible on LR3?

Thanks.

Those who know cannot tell you because they sign NDAs.

I suggest you look into the Publish panel, particularly into its hard drive option.

And in the meantime, isn't there a export plug-in that does this? It rings a bell but I can't look right now.

There are a few that can output matching folder structures, but none that can do collections. In Lr3, you can use Publish's Hard Drive for this - so much so that it makes me question whether one should continue to use the regular Collections panel.

Interesting, I hadn't noticed that. It certainly sounds like those features need to merge.
