Hi,
I'd like my process of importing to include backing up to DVD while importing and copying to my hard drive. I intentionally bought 4 gig cards since their volume fits nicely on a DVD.
I thought if I just specified the DVD drive in the import dialogue window XP and LR2 would figure it out and treat the process like adding files to any DVD.
All I get is "cant find disk" or something like that.
I ended up burning the files to DVD using Nero and then importing while copying to my hard drive.

Is anyone burning files to a DVD while importing and copying to hard drive? If so, could you outline your process?

Thanks in advance (and I hope I'm not missing something embarassingly simple.)

jj, no, I think you have it correct. I tend to build temporary import backup 'buckets' like yourself, and do the DVD burn later. I use double-layer DVDs, which hold 8+GB.

BTW, welcome to the forums.

If you think you'll be participating frequently, it's helpful to readers and contributors alike, if you build a signature block with pertinent computer and software specs. Camera and personal stuff (maybe a preferred name?) too if you like. Click 'User CP' at top right of forum.
