For those that monitor the LR rooms on flickr I'll also post this question there. Here goes...

I'm now working in LR v1.4.1 and have come across a problem during exporting. The issue strangely only affects images that are b&w. If I try and open them in PS I get the message 'The embedded ICC Profile cannot be used because the ICC profile is invalid'.

That's never happened before and only came about when I tried to upload images to Alamy and Photoshelter.

Anyone know what's going on here?
Thanks
Hoddo

Hm... hadn't seen this. I'll check when I get home.

Sounds like your Greyscale ICC profile is corrupted. Try updating it (you should be able to grab it off your PS cd)

Hi V,
Thanks for the reply - I don't actually know where my PS cd is right now! We're doing a ton of work here and packing crates everywhere filled with cr*p. Could you suggest somewhere to go and get the profile? Once there where do I put it on my pc?
Again, thank you.

OK - narrowed it down. Using the export option of Burn Full Sized JPEGS all is fine. All is not fine if I use the LR/Mogrify regardless of the size I want the exported image to be.

Wonder if the LR/Mogrify tool isn't configured to work with 1.4.1?

I've sent Tim a mail.

So let me get this right - if you do a straight export to greyscale, it's fine, but if you send it through LR/Mogrify it breaks? Interesting! Can you upload a low res of each here so I can check something?

Yep, I can replicate the same problem.

Bridge shows a colour space of Adobe RGB but a color mode of BW. LR can't reimport it either. If, in LR/Mogrify, I set it to strip the profile, it opens as normal. One for Tim I think!
