I am running Lightroom 2.5. I was developing some photos and the phots started automatically converting to grayscale. I didn't think I hit a button or anything but maybe I did. But, I sure don't know what I hit. Anyway, I can hit "V" and convert them back to color, but it does no good...they all go back to grayscale automatically......any advice?

I'm getting the same behaviour - looking at the history, I can only see import. Also if I go and reset the image settings (i.e. undo all LR changes) it reverts to grey.

Make a pseudo import of a new image. In the dialog box under "Information to apply" beside "Develop Settings:" check if you didn't choose some B&W or Grayscale conversion at import.

You could also, on the imported image, chose Reset (Adobe) in the lower right corner of the develop module to reset everything to default (press shift, so Reset changes to Reset (Adobe)).

Thought of that last night, and double checked this morning - no develop settings made.

I've now in the Library right hand panel selected 'Reset All' and synced all my images. Baffling how it happened, may shoot some more photos to see if it happens again.
