New to Lightroom 2. Every time I import to Lightroom, the same two keywords automatically appear as checked in the Keywords List. How could this have happened, and how can I stop it from occurring? Previously, some of my photos were assigned keywords via the Photoshop Elements organizers. Have already imported many photos from my hard disk and from the camera card. Don't want to go further before finding out what I have done incorrectly.

Hi rosalieannmaddox! Welcome to the forums. When you have a minute use the USER CP link above and fill in your signature.

Check to see if you have these two keywords in the "keywords" field on the Import dialog. Sometimes keywords get entered and we forget that whatever was there last time stays until it is removed.

Yes, Welcome, rosalieannmaddox

One other place to look. If you're using a metadata preset to apply copyright, location, etc. info at import time, there's a keyword panel available there as well. Make sure it's cleared out also.

Gene. Thank you. I found the answer. The 2 keywords appeared in my custom metadata settings. Must have entered them when I first explored Lightroom. Removed them, and Eureka! No more problem.
