Auto Stacking Question...

I have been taking bracketed (5 ea) exposures for HDR 36' Panoramas. This can generate quite a few images as you can imagine. I understand auto stacking by time and I have used it to create the stacks but here is my question. Has anyone figure out how to have the normal exposure (middle of the 5) to become the "parent" of the stack since the way the images were taken they start with -2, -1, ', +1, +2 stops and either -1 or ' would be the best to have on top of the collapsed stack vs the -2 which is where the interval starts between shot bursts. I see that I can double click in each stack in order to select a particular image to become the "parent " but even this is tedious. Any ideas would be welcome to streamline this workflow.

lrreynolds, I'm not aware of any way around that one, but I did want to take the opportunity to Welcome you to the forums. Perhaps another member may have a method for you.

In the meantime, we encourage members to submit official feature requests to Adobe for things they feel strongly about. There's a link on the NavBar at the top of the thread.

Additionally, if you think you may be hanging out around here, it's helpful to readers and contributors alike, if you build a signature block with pertinent computer and software specs. Camera and personal stuff too if you like. Click 'User CP' at top right of forum. See any thread for numerous examples .....

Thanks for the quick reply, I think someone else had asked a question about auto-staking bracketed exposures. I think this would be useful for Adobe to consider given the growing interest in HDR.

Lou, can you set the order of the bracketed shots on your camera? On my K1'D I can specify which exposure I want first (' -> - -> +, - -> ' -> + or + -> ' -> -).

Not quite what you're looking for, but a slight shortcut nonetheless....

Go to Photo menu > Stacking > Open all stacks - and then see the little number in the top corner that will say 3 of 5 for your middle image - when you click on that, it'll automatically make that image top of the stack.
