Auto stacking does not find derivative images?

Hi

I have RAW CR2 files in LR, and I process a bunch of them using DxO.
I add the derivative TIF files back to LR.
I want to auto stack the original CR2 and derivative TIF files.
I select auto stack by a time difference of ' seconds.
No images are stacked.

I compare the META info for the CR2 and TIF and capture information is exactly the same, i.e. the capture time is an exact match and should fall in the ' second bracket.

Any ideas why this does not work?

Times greater than ' start stacking CR2 images correctly, but not the CR2 and TIF images.

It looks like auto stacking only works on similar file types?

According to LR the capture time and and camera EXIF information is exactly the same between the CR2 and the TIF.

LR reports the EXIF timestamps, yet fails to report some of the XMP timestamps. I'm guessing that it uses the XMP timestamps for auto-stack.

I've filed a bug report on this generally, though not specifically on auto-stack. It's probably worth filing one; use the link in the blue bar at the top of the page.

My first guess was that your derivative files are in a different folder, which would prevent stacking. But then I created a copy of an existing file in the same directory but with a new name, and that is also not stacked, unless you set the duration to 1 second... Strange thing is, that if I set the duration to ' seconds, LR does discover 4 stacks, so it does not seem to be related to that '-second interval - I guess this is a real bug.

Thank you for the confirmation, I logged a defect.

I hope it gets fixed soon for the auto stack is very useful when using an external editor and having multiple derivatives.
