Hi guys,

I have just changed phones and looking to find the setting to auto import form Google photos.

On my old phone any photo I took, or was sent to me via WhatsApp phone, when I opened LR after a little while all the photos would be imported.
I cant find for the life of me how to get it set up on my new phone, Pixel 9 pro.
Thanks for any help and advice Alex

hi,
just wondered if anyone had any ideas please.
In LR mobile on my phone, I have Auto add from device selected and import from all locations.
It has imported a few photos but only some of the photos that people have WhatsApp me.
But none of the photos I have taken on the phone, using the camera app on the phone.

What version of Lightroom Mobile are you running on your phone? Support for the Pixel 9 camera requires LrM version 8.4.

Hi Jim, Its v10 4.4 so I guess thats ok.
If I go into LR mobile on my phone, I can see the images under - photo on device.
But when I look in LR on my desk top, none of my images are there.
Thanks for getting back to me

Let's stick with LrM initially, we can figure out LrD later.

My bad on the version number, it should be 10.4, but you're at that level so that's not an issue.

You say that you can see "the images under - photo on device".....not sure what that means exactly, so perhaps a screenshot would help?

Hi Jim,
Here is a screen shot of LrM, the images I take on the phone are there, but for some reason they are not in LrD.
Some images that people have sent me do get into LrD, but not the ones I have taken.

But, the screen shot I did for this from LrM did go into LrD?

On my old Pixel Pro 7, everything on the phone went into LrD, thats where I decide what to keep, then delete all the rubbish stuff.

I hope that makes sense, but if its helpful to get more detail please let me know.
Thanks for your help, Alex

OK, it looks as though LrM is not auto-importing the images from the Gallery, which is why they haven't synced to the cloud and then into LrD. Let's have a screenshot of the LrM app settings, specifically the Import tab.

Oh thanks Jim,
Is this the settings you mean.

Yes, that's what I meant. But it all looks very normal, so I'm a bit mystified as to why the images taken with the native camera aren't auto-importing into LrM. Could you just try one more time, take a couple of pics with the camera then open LrM with the Lightroom tab selected, not the Gallery tab, to check if the new pics appear at the top of All Photos.

How many cameras does the phone have? Adobe's web-site shows that it supports three different cameras (front, ultrawide and wide), are you using one of those?

Hi Jim,
For some unknown reason, I took some other shots and now they are being brought into LrD
But the images that I wanted have not pulled through.
I guess the only way to get them in there, is to down load them to my pc, then import them from there?
Thanks for your help.

I thought you could see them in LrM when you use the Gallery tab instead of the Lightroom tab? If so, open LrM and select the Gallery tab, and then you can select all the images that didn't auto-import and tap on the Import button at the bottom of the screen to import them into Lightroom, from where they'll sync to the cloud and into LrD.

Hi Jim,
Yes that worked that you, not sure if there was something wrong, or me just getting confused :)
but its all working now, thank you.

I tend to not use the Gallery tab (called Device tab on my iPhone), I use auto-import for captures using the phone camera so there's little need to ever use the Gallery/Device tab.
