I'm using the available free ebooks but I'd love to own my own "Missing Manual" Anyone know of any current discounts? Money is always an issue.

There's one in my signature that should still be active.

For the paperback, Amazon's often cheaper even without a discount code, as their widespread distribution centers means they can do far cheaper shipping rates than I can. Have fun reading!

I would strongly recommend the PDF version since it is searchable. I started to read it end-to-end, but I'll never finish it that way. Instead I have become very familiar with the Table of Contents plus the Acrobat search function.

Thanks, Phil! I'm a bit overwhelmed right now, so that is helpful information!

Understood. I will just say this. I had gotten several other LR books, when I was still using LR 6 and then I got Victoria's FAQ book. So much better. I bought
Victoria's book for the LR 7 version, but the others? They are just taking up MB of disk storage. Fortunately disk storage is cheap. Even Victoria's book is a bit much to digest, but that's because LR is a big, complex program.

If you are familiar with Microsoft Office, I think of LR as same kind of big, complex, features-for-every-user type of program as Word or Excel. But lots of people use these programs on a casual basis and learn the features as they need them. Same for LR.

I've also bought other books and paid for online classes. So far I find this information the easiest for me to wrap my head around. I just wish I had started with this. I have pictures scattered everywhere. :(

That's good to hear Ewokchef! I can see you've already registered your book, so the PDF version is in the Members Area if you haven't already downloaded it. I often use the search function in my own book too!! :D

There's a lot of information which can be really overwhelming, so start by skipping through the "Fast Track" sections marked with the red arrows. It starts on page 2, and just takes you through small chunks that cover most of what you need to know, then the bits in between can be used as reference when you want to know more about a specific topic.
